Privacy policy

KNAPVÆRK collects only the information you enter in our forms yourself. There are no cookies and no cross-site tracking.

Data controller

KNAPVÆRK is the data controller for information sent through this site. Contact details and company registration number appear at the foot of every page.

What we collect

The contact form asks for your email address, a subject and your message. You do not need to give a name or address to write to us.

If you order as a retailer, the order form also asks for a company name or your name, a delivery address, an optional note, and the order itself. The delivery address is used only to send the goods.

If you email us directly instead, the same applies: we hold only what you send us.

What we use it for

Solely to answer your enquiry and — for an order — to process and deliver it. We do not use the information for marketing, do not send newsletters, and do not pass it to anyone else.

For ordinary enquiries the basis is our legitimate interest in replying to whoever writes to us (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). For an order the basis is performance of the contract or steps prior to it (Article 6(1)(b)), and for the bookkeeping a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).

Where it is held

The site stores nothing. The forms send your message as an ordinary email and keep no copy — there is neither a database nor an archive behind the page.

The message is sent using Resend, which handles delivery, and then sits in our inbox. The site is hosted by Vercel, which also provides the visitor statistics described below.

Resend and Vercel are both US companies and act as our data processors. Transfers to the United States rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Statistics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people visit the site, which country they come from, what kind of device they use, and which link they arrived by.

No cookies are set and nothing is stored on your device. That is also why there is no cookie banner. To tell visits apart, Vercel derives a code from your request, including IP address and browser. The code is generated on the server, is not kept as an IP address, and is reset after 24 hours, so a visit cannot be followed from one day to the next or across sites. We see only aggregate figures and cannot tell who an individual visitor is.

How long we keep it

Emails are kept for as long as they matter to the correspondence — typically until the matter is closed. If the enquiry concerns a purchase, we keep the record for five years from the end of the financial year the purchase belongs to, as Danish bookkeeping law requires. After that it is deleted.

The visitor statistics are retained by Vercel for 30 days.

Your rights

You may ask what information we hold about you, have anything incorrect corrected, have it deleted, have the processing restricted, or receive the information you gave us in a common format (data portability). Write to us at the email address below and we will reply as soon as we can, and within one month at the latest.

You have the right to object at any time to our processing your information on the basis of our legitimate interest. If you object, we will stop processing it unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for continuing. This is free of charge and you do not have to give a reason.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you may complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby — datatilsynet.dk.
